“It was about time someone pulled the University up on the wastage of electricity in this place! The snap it off campaign was a great way of getting students involved in our Union’s green agenda. It was a cold and wet December morning when this was taken, but eco-warriors never let weather get them down! Keep snapping those lights off!”

November Winner!
This photo was sent in by Jez Davis of Winchester University. Here is what Jez has to say:
‘The photo shows the amount of lights left on during the day in one of the key lecture theatres on the University Campus, it is really shocking to walk around during the day and see lights left on in rooms, especially a room so large and empty it really makes it hard to promote to students that switching off is the best thing to do as those running the facilities won’t even bother to do it themselves!’
October Winner!
This photo was sent in by Jamie Peters of the University of Aberdeen. Here is what Jamie has to say:
‘I think the Snap It Off campaign is amazing. We all know of lights that are on for no reason and now we can all contribute to getting them turned off. I think this can appeal to everyone, you can save your institution or council money, reduce your areas carbon footprint, get active in reducing energy being wasted and even win an MP3 player. I am pleased that a light in Aberdeen that had no purpose during the day is now fitted with a sensor, the first of many hopefully.’
